Focus on reviewing products that fall within your niche. Then, leveraging the rapport you have created with your audience and your stance as an expert, tell your readers why they would benefit from purchasing the product you are promoting. It is especially effective to compare this product to others in the same category. Most importantly, make sure you are generating detailed, articulate content to improve conversions.
But what if you want to take your site to the next level? If you have a content-driven Web site, how can you make money off your traffic? If you are an online merchant, how can you get people to your site to buy your products? One popular option that serves both of these functions is an affiliate program. I have been using US Marketing Group for approx. 4 years for both Residential & Commercial Leads and it is mainly because of one of their Sale Representatives, Reggie, which is one of the most courteous, professional & hard working sales representatives that I have spoken to in quite some time as I am a long-time Manager of several previous Call Center Companies and have been dealing with the public on a regular basis as I was also an Advertising Director for a Computer Association and have worked with many SMB VARs (Value-added Resellers) as well as Business Service Providers like Avis...Distributors like CDW...and Manufacturers like IBM.
Perrin, you tired me out just thinking about the organising and writing this monster. What about isolating those programs that specialise in recurring income eg Boxes. Is it difficult to become and an AA these days. More importantly is it worthwhile going out on this arduous journey with a landlord that seems to want to do you over at any opportunity. Thanks
If you get THAT clear and believe in some product, go ahead. Your audience trusts your word. But most folks need to use or experience before they can get clear, because they have a fear: the fear of using trust. I am slowly losing that fear but still use what I promote, before I promote it. I also just sell my stuff mainly. Since I have quite a few products and eBooks and services to sell.
What’s more, if your visitor likes Amazon.com, he is likely to go directly there the next time he wants to purchase a book, and Amazon.com has potentially gained a customer for life. If you would like to take a more subtle approach, include a product or service from your company that relates into your blog post. For example, let’s say that you are a wine connoisseur and that is what your blog is based around. In any post that is enticing your readers to open up a good bottle of Merlot or what have you, it would be wise to embed an ad for a quality, easy-to-use wine opener, wine glasses or stoppers that keep the wine fresh.

While affiliate marketers are generally able to join affiliate networks for free, merchants usually have to pay a fee to participate in the network. Affiliate networks usually charge an initial setup fee for each merchant and often a recurring membership fee. It’s also common practice for affiliate networks to charge merchants a percentage of the commissions paid to affiliates. This percentage is known as an ‘over-ride’ and is payable on top of the affiliates commissions. But make no mistake about it, despite these fees, the benefits to the merchant for joining these networks is well worth the price. Here’s why…
Websites and services based on Web 2.0 concepts—blogging and interactive online communities, for example—have impacted the affiliate marketing world as well. These platforms allow improved communication between merchants and affiliates. Web 2.0 platforms have also opened affiliate marketing channels to personal bloggers, writers, and independent website owners. Contextual ads allow publishers with lower levels of web traffic to place affiliate ads on websites.
